I had a simple but nice day with friends and later my family. As we grow older and our children grow up things sure do change. Fireworks seem smaller. Get together's are smaller or no longer there. Familes just don't celebrate the way they used to. I blame the economy everything is just so expensive now that you have to almost treat everyday even a holiday like every other day. But you always have time to send out a prayer to our troops and give them many thank yous for keeping us safe everyday. That is what today is all about. Enjoying our freedom and thanking those that keep us free.
A BIG THANK YOU TO OUR TROOPS ! PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE. MAY GOD KEEP YOU SAFE.
I also thought today and do on so many occasions of not just the troops but their families. The troops sacrifice themselves but their loved ones sacrifice a mom, father, son, daughter, husband or wife. That has to be so hard to do. I know I would be so scared if my child was to serve. I thank all of you for all your sacrifices. I send you blessings and love.

I almost missed our fireworks. I was not feeling well and layed down and fell asleep. My husband and son didnt want to wake me. Luckily my daughter called and it woke me up just in time to hurry and make it into town to see the fireworks. I live in Petoskey, Michigan. Our firworks are over the Bay on Lake Michigan. Its a beautiful site. You overlook the water and see all the boats. Its lovely. Where we watch you can also see all the neighboring citys fireworks that are also shot into the sky over the bay. So its a three firework display in one. Big booms all around. Lots of oohs and ahhs. Excited little kids and lots of light up glow necklaces everywhere. The smell of fireworks in the air. Just brings you back to childhood days. I was so glad I was healthy enough to go this year. I thank God everyday for allowing me to enjoy every single moment in life no matter how big or small. Im blessed. I walk like I am 80 but Im so lucky to be here o_O .

So dont forget to say thank you in any way you can to your troops. I know I do.
I have loved ones in the military, family and friends serve, have served and lost their lives. I thank them any time I get a chance and pray for their safety everyday.
Im proud to be an American and live in this wonderful land of the free
